What colour accessories goes well with a red dress?

I am going to a formal dinner and have gotten a red dress tailored for it. its strapless and tight on the chest area (plain dark red) and flows down to the floor in patterned satin material (again in red).

I'm not sure how it will look like, does red dresses look best with black hair, light brown or dark brown hair?

Should I wear jewellery with the dress since it has a busy design on it? Would it be too much? Earings? Braclet? Necklace? I was thinking of wearing pearls since the dress was originally suppose to be in brown but now that it is in red, I'm not so sure. I don't think I will wear any other jewellery.

What about shoes? I was going for open toed heels - around 2 1/2 inches high. What color would go best? I was thinking black? or maybe silver?

And... the purse. A clutch purse? Would a black leather one look good? or do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for any advice you can give, I'm not a fashionable person but really want to look great for this!

red looks good with basically any hair color, i have black hair with red highlights and red looks pretty good. as the dress is busy, wear very simple accessories (stud earrings or a bracelet) or none. silver shoes are good :)

well, yes I know red is a bit complicated when you have to combine it,but now everyone wears something red and as I can see many people don't care if the colors match or don't.

What I do is when I wear something red I wear red long earrings with little silver on it because I think it looks best.I think you should try with something similar,red-silver earrings or maybe a necklace because you say that your dress is strapless.For the shoes you can choose red or silver heels(you can choose black too but I think it looks more elegant in the other colors) and for the purse-depends on the color of the shoes,maybe red-silver combination or plain silver.
