Try a local consignment shop. My sister in law found a REALLY cute formal maternity dress and it was very inexpensive. You also get to try it on that way.

eBay is good, but buying clothing there is always risky when you can't try it on. I love Goodwill, and they generally have a fairly large selection of formal wear.
Since you are going to be pregnant, I'd definitely wear your hair up instead of down, in a loose chignon or something. It will help balance out the baby bump and make you look glowing and beautiful!
