What should i wear to a wedding??

ok. so im 17 and my niece is getting married in a few months! i know that sounds weird but my niece is like 26! we have a very strange family situation! but whatever! but i have no clue what to wear! im not in the wedding or anything cus we have too big of a family to fit everyone in. but i have no clue what too wear! i definantly want to wear a dress, cus skirts look too informal. its gonna be a very formal wedding so i want to look nice, but not too overdone. so i you can suggest a style off dress i would appreciate it! maybe a sweater too!!

some side notes: the wedding is going to be outside and its gonna be cold! the colors are a pale green and purple! but it doesnt have to be either of those colors just something that would look good with those colors!

and would i be too informal to wear my hair straight!? i mean like salon straight, a blow out or whatever you call it! thanks!

I work part time at Penney's on the weekends, they have some pretty/cute stuff. While a lot of dresses may be a bit chilly for outside, many might go nice with, as you say, a sweater or short jacket to match.

No, IMO hair down is fine...that way it won't even matter if you don't wear earrings if you can't see your ears. : )

And instead of a sweater wear a translucent white glittery wrap

Wear a long dress that has a matching long-sleeved jacket. No reason you have to freeze. Get something you know you'll want to be wearing again to other dressy events; but you don't have to shell out a gazillion dollars for it. Shop around a bit. The color should be something that looks good on you. No rule that says it has to look particularly good with the wedding colors since those colors have various shades and intensities. As to jewelry, wear whatever you feel comfortable with. There aren't any rules about this either. It would be fine to wear your hair down if you want.
