Old Hollywood theme?

I have a formal coming up, and the theme is "Old Hollywood" ... and I was just confused as to what kind of hair-do would constitute "old hollywood" -- I am a girl =) and I would like to wear my hair down preferably (I have almost waist-length hair) ...

Well, I would say curl your hair and wear a red dress with red lipstick. That's something like Marilyn Manrow.
