Where can I find a formal hairstyle for my 2 year old?

My 2 1/2 year old is going to be a flowergirl. Not sure if we're doing it up or down .. It's long and wavy, but still fine baby hair. Any websites with ideas? Your ideas help, too ... thankx

the half-up and pull the pony tail thru is cute

that will let the waves be seen...cute

the half-up will get the hair out of her face and the pull thru covers the band so it won't show since ribbons would probably slide out of her fine hair

and get some wispys to frame her face in front of her ears

I'd leave it down and use a headband, barrettes, or a little tiara with flowers on it. Or you can pull half her hair up and leave and tie a ribbon and a few fresh flowers in her hair. Check out the sites below for hair accessories and ideas. I wouldn't put the kid through the pain of having bobby pins stuck in her head or the effort to try and keep her still and quiet while getting her hair done.

I would leave it down...there are so many cute options to putting her hair up. You can buy jewels, or flowers or wreaths or even a little comb back tiara or barrettes. this way you don't have to try and keep a 2 year old still for 40 minutes while she is getting her hair done....its SO hard to get baby hair to do what you want anyway....its hard enough just to pull it back let alone do an updo!!....I can barely even sit through the torture of getting MY hair done for 40 minutes!!!

my opinion:

2.5 isn't too young to be a flower girl....in fact flower girls are generally SUPPOSED to be under 5....I have only been to one wedding where the flower girls were over 3...she was 6 and I didn't think it was as cute to be honest!!!

At 2-1/2 I really wouldn't worry about it. First, that is TOO young to be a flower girl (she doesn't even understand the concept at this point) and the last thing I would be worried about is her hair! You'll be lucky to get a dress on her (don't forget extra diapers), keep her from wailing her head off, and keeping her awake through the ceremony. I don't know why on earth children this young are invited to be flower girls and ring bearers. The youngest child in the procession should be at least 5 years-old. You'll see what I mean after the wedding.

French braiding looks A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E. with little baby wisps. I always braid the hair of the kids I babysit and one mom had me braid her kids hair for her kindergarten graduation.

You might want to avoid curling irons, at least leave them off the high settings because fine hair burns!!! - experience.

I'd leave the longer part down yet put the upper part into a pretty bun. Top it off with a diamond look ciara or diamond look barrettes and some silk baby's breath. Let her look radiant but yet still like a 2yr old beauty

Don't worry about a formal hairstyle. One thing that looks so great about children's hair is that it is so natural and fresh looking. I would go natural and it will look beautiful.

You should leave it down. Us grown ups understand that pain is beauty, and we can handle the poking bobby pins and the odd weight on our heads. But your daughter won't understand this, and she won't like it at all.

Look in a magazine that sells flower girl dresses for ideas. Good luck!
