What do wear to bat/bar mitzahs?!?! help!?

ok..so im going to a few of my friends bat mitzahs in late march and early april....and i dont know

1) what kind of dress to wear,

2) what do wear for their services(yes..im going to the services..)

3) and wat to buy them...

obviously these r my first bat/bar mitzahs...cuz every one is turnin 13 this year..and yea..

i have NO clue what to wear and stuff...

me: medium long dark brown hair, asian[korean], about 5ft 3in., 13 years old...kinda skinny? but not anorexic/bullimic...i have glasses :(.....live near boston...(choose from stores from the burlington mall %26amp; the natick mall)

help meee!! ahh! i need a reasonable priced dresses(i need like 2 or 3..), something to wear to the services..%26amp; what some bat/bar mitzah presents...

[oh and for 1 of the b.m's...the party is right after the service..so i need something not too revealing for her service..but kinda formal for the party..its 10:45 thru ___ then from ____ to 5:30....]

For the service i would wear a dress with a cardigan or a shrug or something and then for the party i would wear the same dress without the cardigan.

I'm going to suggust things from the Natick Collection or whatever it's called now because that's my second favorite mall.

As for shoes, i would go with a cute pair of ballet flats. They go with everything, and they're comfortable so you can dance in them at the party.

Wear something that you could wear to church.. cover your shoulders and nothing too short or low cut. Just a party dress with a cardigan over it is fine.

How close are you? The closer you are, the more you spend I guess. About $20 for just a friend, closer to $40 if its a really close friend.

well fro my friends bat mitzahs i wore a black strapless dress from macys but you have to make sure u are wareing something to cover your shoulders jewish people are very picky about that at bat/bar mizahs the service is long so wear confortable shoes cause you are going to be standing most of the time. for presents, usually everyone gets the money or gift cards, its like a tradition. i wore the black dress to the sevice and then took off the really cute swaeter i wore over it and i had a great party outfit. as a girl you must ware a dress or skirt.
