How should I do my hair for........???

I have a formal dance coming up and I need some ideas on how to do my hair. I'm going to my hairdresser but I would like to have some ideas before I go. I DON"T want a complete updo, I would like a half up half down, or all the way down style. I can't find any good pictures so links would be great! Thank you sooo much!!!! : )
